The Other Way Ministries

19
Founded in 1967, The Other Way Ministries began as a safe place where neighborhood kids could fix up their bikes and hear the gospel. It has since grown into an organization that addresses a number of needs in the Grand Rapids neighborhood of Westown.

We believe strong, vibrant communities grow from strong, vibrant families. Families have two basic types of needs: immediate tangible needs and long-term sustainable growth. Thankfully, there are many ministries gifted at providing the daily tangible needs of meals, clothes, and beds to sleep in. At The Other Way we focus on developing sustainable leadership within families.

Values Statement
We base our decisions and actions on the belief that Jesus Christ is Lord over all, that integrity infuses all aspects of our ministry, and that dignity applies equally to all people.

Vision Statement
We envision a community where Westown neighbors value people of all ages, races, and cultures. We see a place where Christ-centered leadership skills are applied to affirm strengths, meet needs, and foster sustainable change through strong Christian families. We believe the foundation of strong families begins with the cornerstones of spiritual, relational, and economic growth.
