Grand Rapids, Michigan is the second largest city in the state.  It sits in Kent County, and is east of gorgeous Lake Michigan.  The Heritage Hill area is located downtown and is full of awesome 19th and 20th century homes that are dated back to 1844. Grand Rapids is also the home of the international art competition, Art Prize, which takes place for 3 weeks each fall.  The event draws over half a million visitors each year, with art entries coming from artists all over the world

Residents and visitors alike are able to enjoy some amazing places in town.  Grand Rapids has great museums, such as the Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, and the John Ball Zoo.  Grand Rapids is also home to the Founders Brewing Co, along with 60+ other local breweries.
