‘PICTURES OF HOPE’ - MEET THE YOUNG ARTISTS PARTY & EXHIBITION Children from The Salvation Army reveal their "hopes and dreams" on greeting cards and all proceeds benefit The Salvation Army Tucson, AZ ̶ The 2017 "hopes and dreams" of children in Tucson will be on display for the first time this year. The “Pictures of Hope” greeting cards are so special to send all year, including the holiday season, as each card shares a heartfelt dream of a child who is experiencing homelessness. This is the card you want to give to someone who is important to you. The children express life lessons for all of us in their heartfelt hopes and dreams featured on each card. ALL proceeds benefit the children and their families. The cards, with the children's dreams, will be celebrated and unveiled at Yikes Toys on Thursday, November 9, 4:00-6:00 pm. Bisbee Breakfast Club is proud to cater the event and will be providing party food and treats for the children. Photojournalist, author and creator of "Pictures of Hope", Linda Solomon, and Annie Schlesinger, Marketing Director, skinnytees will congratulate each child at the celebration along with their Tucson mentors who each year volunteer their time to help the children capture their dreams. “This day is life-changing for the children! The photographs of their hopes and dreams are inspirational,” said Linda Solomon. Linda Schlesinger Wagner, international fashion designer, entrepreneur and founder of skinnytees, is making it possible for ALL proceeds from the sales of the children's Pictures of Hope cards to benefit the homeless children and families at The Salvation Army. "The best gift we can give ourselves and others are the little things we say and do to achieve our dreams," said Ms. Schlesinger-Wagner. Ms. Solomon taught the children photography skills at The Salvation Army in October when she again brought her nationally acclaimed program “Pictures of Hope” to Tucson. Ms. Solomon surprised each child with a high-end professional digital camera, generously donated by Walgreens. Their assignments as young photojournalists to capture their “hopes and dreams” are now beautifully featured on “Pictures of Hope” greeting cards. Tucson children have been selected for the seventh year. "Pictures of Hope is woven into the fabric of Tucson,” said founder/photojournalist Linda Solomon. "The children's cards touch their soul AND express the heart of Tucsonans. We are so grateful to our mentors who each year volunteer their time to take the children ALL over the city to capture their dreams with a camera. The Picture of Hope cards show Tucson children how much their heartfelt dreams MATTER!" Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will be there to congratulate the children.
