It's back to school, which means football season is in high gear. For all of you who are participating in sports, it is very important to hydrate yourself properly. But be careful because sports drinks are very acidic. As a matter of fact they have almost the same acidity level as soda, 2-3.5. That can cause cavities. My suggestion is make sure you're well hydrated with water. Just don't wait until you're thirsty to drink. ------Dr. Mikhail

I know I don't say this enough, but Dr. Baker and I are so blessed to be surrounded by such smart women. Our team works hard and truly care for our patients. I appreciate you all------Dr. Mikhail

Two weeks ago, I was super frustrated with getting my kids to complete their chores. Later that day, I met a lady who lost her 8 yr. old son in a car accident. Mom was texting and driving. She told me about how it destroyed her life. I can't even imagine such a tragedy. I learned that life is too short to sweat the small stuff---Dr. Mikhail

While on vacation, I came across a little girl 6 years old with a swollen cheek. Unable to stay quiet, I approached grandma and introduced myself and what I do. Most of the time, a swollen cheek indicates a dental abscess, which if left untreated, can be fatal. In this case, grandma felt comfortable enough to allow me to peak. Just as I suspected, multiple abscesses, with a low grade fever. After hearing their story, I advised grandma, (who is the guardian), of the urgency of getting her grandchild to the hospital for emergency treatment. I ask everyone who reads this to share it and say a prayer for this little girl.-------Dr. Mikhail

When I see all the turmoil that's happening around the world, it makes me so grateful that I live in a country where I can speak my mind and not going to prison for it. God Bless America. From all of us at West Chester Center for Dentistry, Happy 4th of July----Dr. Mikhail
