Today, an SUV pulled into our parking lot. Its driver parked in a spot in the back of the lot and walked through our sliding doors to begin the final day of an incredible career. For more than 17 years, our residents, family members and staff have had the privilege to live and work alongside Eileen Miller. Kind, tough, thorough and caring. She expects a lot from those around her, because she truly feels that our residents deserve the absolute best. She doesn’t just expect it, she has always been willing to walk-the-walk, too – early mornings, late nights and weekends – no time was ever off limits when the job needed to be done. She’s a trusted confidant and the possessor of the Village Shalom Seal of Approval – the source of the famous phrase “looks good, but be sure to run it by Eileen first.” From her humble beginnings in our pre-construction trailer, to her lavish office suite of today – Eileen Miller has touched the lives of countless residents, families and fellow staff members. She has been an ally, a mentor and a friend to so many, and on their behalf, we would like to thank Eileen from the bottom of our hearts for everything she has done to make Village Shalom the place it is today. It simply wouldn't be the same without you. You will be dearly missed, and we wish you nothing but the best in what we hope will be an amazing next chapter in your story. Today we will celebrate Eileen’s career and wish her well in her next chapter from 3-5 p.m. in the Village Shalom Social Hall. This is an open house format, and if you are one of the many whose life has been touched by Eileen, we hope you will join us.
