One of the projects on our schedule last week was starting the electrical installation for the Plymouth Schools Bus Wash. Soon you will be seeing shiny clean school buses full of happy kids... well at least the buses will be clean anyway.

As usual, we've had a packed schedule this week which included the electrical rough on a new house.

TIP OF THE WEEK: If you come across an outlet that doesn’t work, the solution might be as simple as flipping a switch. Some outlets are operated from a wall switch, so check all the switches in the room first. If that doesn’t help, make sure that no GFCI outlets in your house need to be reset, if the non-working outlet is “down-stream” from the tripped GFCI it won’t have power either. Finally, check your electrical panel for anything in the off position and flip it to on. If the outlet still doesn’t have power, call Tri Star Electrical & Lighting at 810-225-9605 to come take a look at the outlet.

TIP OF THE WEEK: If you have a light that is constantly flickering it might just be a sign that the bulb isn’t screwed in all the way. While you’re checking that, also make sure the bulb is the correct wattage for the fixture. Using a higher-watt bulb than a fixture is designed for is called overlamping and is one of the biggest fire hazards and most common causes of house fires. If everything checks out, try replacing the light bulb with a fresh one, if that works, you probably just had a bad bulb. If none of those solutions work, there’s likely a wiring issue that you’ll want to call Tri Star Electrical & Lighting to come troubleshoot. Call us at 810-225-9605 or use the contact form on our website,

TIP OF THE WEEK: Always listen to your electrical breakers… When a breaker trips it is typically an indication that there is something wrong with the circuit. It may be okay to reset a breaker that has tripped one time, but resetting a breaker multiple times is a sure way to create an electrical problem or an electrical fire. If a breaker trips more than once, be safe and call Tri Star Electrical & Lighting at 810-225-9605 to come out to evaluate what is causing it to trip. The electrical breaker box is the first line of defense in keeping your home safe, free of fire, and free of injuries.
