Taylor Electric, Inc. shared Architectural Nexus's post.
The Huntsman Cancer Institute cut the ribbon on the 225,000 square foot expansion today, opening the Primary Children’s and Families’ Cancer Research Center, which Jon Huntsman Jr. described as “pure hope.” This expansion will allow additional cancer research, primarily for pediatric cancers. “Thanks to this magnificent new facility, we will double the size of our cancer research program at Huntsman Cancer Institute. We will establish a world-class technology center to provide our researchers with the most innovative tools available in the fight against cancer.” Said HCI executive director Mary Beckerle at the dedication ceremony. The ceremony was attended by many, including several of Arch Nexus’ architects who were responsible for the design, programming and construction management of the HCI expansion. Arch Nexus has had the privilege of working with Huntsman Cancer Institute through each of the four phases of their inspirational facility over the past 15 years. One architect, Jeffrey Gardner, commented that "A facility of this magnitude takes intricate attention from each and every team member from design all the way through construction. We are honored to have had the opportunity to participate with so many amazing people that made up the multi-disciplinary team that has made this come to fruition. It's not just about constructing a beautiful building... but constructing one that serves such an important and inspirational purpose that has made this such a special experience." On June 8, 2017 we held our annual Old Timers Award Dinner. It was again held at the Rio Tinto Stadium. This event is held to recognize the members of Team Taylor that have been with us for 10 or more years. This year there were 8 new inductees who received the coveted "ring”: Josh Hardman, Aaron Vodopich, Mike Freeman, Chance Bytheway, Chase Jones, Jeremy Pattillo, Travis Pehrson, and Tyler Wilkinson. Special recognition was given to Dustin Sahli, Ben Patrick, and Kenny Montoya for reaching the 20-year mark. You guys have made a great contribution to our success as a company and we couldn’t be happier to have you as a part of Team Taylor. Congratulations to all of our 2017 recipients!

We enjoyed having the electrical students from the Granite Technical Institute come out to the shop today and spend the morning with us. It's great to see smart and eager kids interested in the trades.

Taylor Electric would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Out of the many things that we have to be grateful for, we are especially thankful for our outstanding employees. We hope that everyone is enjoying this day of thanks with their loved ones.

We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who have served, and all those who are currently serving. Thank you for defending our freedom.
