This morning we announced $15,000 in facade improvement funding to four downtown projects. The Chandlery Corner building at 401 State Street will receive $5,000 to adapt the facade for a new tenant; the buildings at 418-420 State Street will receive $5,000 toward painting and new windows and doors; Early Connections at 704 State Street will receive $2,595 towards new windows; and Calamari's Squid Row at 1317 State Street will receive $2,405 for new lighting and signage. The total investment being made by the four property owners is $75,000.

Moments ago the Erie Redevelopment Authority announced it has been awarded a $3 million Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. It's projected that 180 Erie County families will be helped by this grant. Families with children under the ages of six with low to very low income are eligible and can contact the authority (814) 870-1540.
