Good afternoon everyone, The response to the Greene Turtle Street Hockey event has been enthusiastically received, and the more that the event has been publicized, the more able bodied and disability programs want to participate and showcase their talents. There are, however, a number of disability program providers that want to be included but can't make the August 26th date. With Montgomery county schools starting after labor day this year, too many potential participants will be away on vacations / extended camp programs. The disability community locally (Disabled Sports USA) and from Baltimore (Baltimore Adaptive Recreation), would like to participate, as well as the MD school for the deaf would like to attend with information, MoCo movement in Rockville, Sports Plus and KEEN are all deeply committed, but asked that the event be moved to a later date, so kids could get back from extended camp sessions, settle into school, and be able to participate and enjoy the day. How much of a hardship will it be to postpone until the end of October. The October date is flexible, but Sunday seems to be the best day at this time of year. Could do first week in November also. On our end, we have been working on creating the portable rinks (which we custom made from recycled two inch thick dura-foam, adjusted the wrap around netting (so no street hockey balls will leave the playing area), created a special rink for the blind hockey demonstrations and adjusted a rink for wheelchair hockey. All are ready to be rolled out. We also acquired two sets of hockey boards and glass that we are working with Montgomery County Recreation on placing at two recreation centers for all to use. Being the first time Mitch and I have attempted this event we'd like to include as many kids with disabilities as possible. The only way to do that is to provide this fun day of activities once all the summer programs are completed. Let me know your thoughts? Marc and Mitch Sports Beyond Boundaries

Sports Beyond Boundaries has acquired another NHL size rink (boards and glass). We will be moving it from a storage facility in Germantown today at 3PM. If any hockey players are available to assist, please let me know. If you know of a school or athletic organization that could utilize one of our rinks, please let me know.

I love having cool customers like Bryan and Brodygoalie....
I want to thank Mitch for taking the time to help my son Brody get the proper goalie gear . Mitch took his time and explained everything to me and Brody. He did all the measurements to a T. Mitch showed us all things we would need. Not once did he push us to buy . Mitch simply pointed out our options . This was total customer SERVICE at its best. We made the trip all the way from Fredericksburg to Rockville yes it was 1 and 45 minute drive but it was well worth the customer service. Mitch you have a customer for life and we will spread the word all the way down here in Fredericksbrug. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING .
