It's snowing at Mt Bachelor! Just in time for the Ski Mo race this Saturday! It's not too late to register - and we're pretty sure this is going to be reeeeally entertaining! We hope to see you at the start line this weekend...
Crow's Feet Commons, Deschutes Brewery and Dynafit have teamed up to present Central Oregon's first Ski Mo Race Series for 2018. SKI-MO (or ski mountaineering) is a skiing discipline that involves climbing mountains either on skis or carrying them, depending on the steepness of the ascent, and then descending on skis. The Crow's Feet/Deschutes races are a combination of a groomed slope ascent, combined with a "Dirksen Derby" banked slalom descent. Think Cyclocross on skis. The races will vary in lengths depending on the categories races and each lap will take about 10-15 minutes. The length of time on the course depends on the category. The races will challenge both your fitness going uphill and your skiing ability going down. The course is designed to suit any type of equipment that a racer chooses, whether that is AT, Telemark, Splitboarding or Nordic. All equipment had its pluses and minuses so it will be fun to see who and what will win the race! The races will be held at Mt. Bachelor under the iconic Red Chair, complete with a finish area filled with snow games, specialty beer tastings, cozy fire pits and awesome music provided by Deschutes Brewery. Big ups to our sponsors who help to make this happen and provide awesome prizes. @[202246342049:274:Dynafit], @[1531632857050050:274:REP Lab], @[1093618484008038:274:B-Line Clinic] and @[171681863041677:274:Cairn] Race entry is $20.00 or $50.00 for the three race series.
