Ever wonder what happened to Northwest German? I created a process that seemed to work great. We were an efficient shop and a great team. We had a lot of good times and sure have a lot of memories! Almost 5 years! Watch my video: Once the shop was running smooth with all the processes in place – I tried to pass on the Shop to the employees that wanted to step up and take over. I hired a business coach and everything was in place. I ventured on to learn Commercial Real Estate while the Team took care of the shop … but as you can imagine – it just disintegrated. If I wasn’t there to push the process and set the positive mood for the day – it just fell apart. I immediately came back to being there daily, to rescue the shop, but it was too late. Employees walked out on me. I ran the shop much smaller and tried to recover. I contacted my past clients and advertised again. The business flourished with so many cars coming in again. I contacted everyone I knew to let them know I needed to hire another Technician to produce the work. But it was too late. I had more clients scheduling appointments than the technicians could produce. I contacted everyone to let them know I was just giving the business away – for free - to anyone that wanted to have all the equipment and all the clients, just keep the place going and pay the rent. I couldn’t work on the cars myself. After 6 months it just couldn’t survive. I had no choice and had to close. I contacted my network of vendors and got my employees jobs elsewhere. The phone kept ringing as I packed everything out to the shop for days. There was an enormous amount of missed calls daily – until I just unplugged the phone. I returned all the equipment to the vendors that had loaned it to me to use. I gathered everything for a garage sale that lasted for 2 evenings. Everything was gone! I locked it up and gave the keys back to the landlord. What a rush! I started over in a career in Commercial Real Estate. Now I enjoy helping people purchase and sell investment properties. It is interesting to learn about income producing properties and play with money! I have found a new passion but I will always love German cars!

Northwest German Car Repair is feeling determined.
