**Warning** We have another counterfeit / copycat product pop up on the market... This post is to ensure that you do not confuse us with their products or processes - and we will explain why below... We have worked considerably hard to get where we are, with years of advertising, magazine features and most of all epic customers and their projects ... Off of the back of this, a couple of people have tried to compete by trying to 'make' a home brew paint that rusts, and then passing it off as something similar to what we supply. The rusting part is a fairly simple process, however these copycats don't seem to realise there is a lot more to it than that! We spent thousands of pounds and many months prior to selling our first paint mix ensuring the longevity of the product, including the additional benefits such as the flexibility / anti corrosive properties and lack of primers needed. With these benefits being exclusive to our product and brand of RustyPaintยฎ. Every month we are trading, we are constantly testing and looking on how we can improve on the paint products we supply. We have changed and improved the formula several times, to ensure that the customer gets the very best quality product we can provide. It is all well and good to have competitors, however when these competitors lack the fundamental knowledge of the rusting / oxidisation process, we all need to worry! This email for example, shows the lack of knowledge from this bedroom paint mixer. They have advised that their 'paint' requires a primer to stop the rust going any further and eating into the metalwork of the car. However the majority of primers are hygroscopic (which in simple terms means porous, and able to absorb moisture - it will never be a barrier!). A primer or undercoat only ensures better adhesion of paint to a surface, or better top coat durability. For the metalwork to be truly protected, it would require something more substantial than a bog standard paint primer, (like a Zinc or Galvanised coating). The other worrying issue, is the lack of common chemistry knowledge of how rust actually works.... Oxidisation (rust) is an expanding redox reaction between metal and oxygen... In simple terms, if your selling a paint which requires a 'barrier' to stop it moving and protecting metalwork... you probably haven't realised once your rust starts, over time it will fracture the paintwork from within - causing it to peel and break away from your vehicle / painted surface!..... This could explain their lack of website, contact details or more worryingly no Data or Safety sheets for the products they are selling (which is actually a legal requirement!). Our paint as you well know, doesn't require any primers and WILL NOT HAVE ANY of the issues stated above! Again, we always strive 100% to supply the best product we can, which does what it says on the tin! - Just ask any of our loyal and brilliant customers! We again just want to make sure our product is not confused with any copy cat products, as although there may be an initial similarity between products with them rusting.... ours will stand the test of time, and you wont have wrecked your vehicle in the process! As always..... accept no imitations ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Even if as the quote goes... "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" The contact details of the email and business card have been blurred out, as this is not a 'name and shame' post... added 5 new photos to the album: Colin's Rusty mk2 Escort.
