Keesen Landscape Management, Inc. would like to honor all of those who have served this Memorial Day. Their sacrifice was great, but their impact on our nation is greater. We will be closed Monday, May 29th, 2017 in observance of Memorial Day. If there is a landscape / irrigation problem at one of the properties Keesen maintains that demands our immediate attention, please call (303) 761-0444. You will be directed to our "on-call" staff who can assist you.

“Why is my lawn not greening up?” Now that "spring as sprung" as we like to say, there seems to be an abundance of damaged, brown turf areas. While these may be the result of other problems, such as insects or soil problems, most can be attributed to a lack of moisture over the winter. “Winter desiccation” occurs when a turf area's Blue Grass plants completely dry out down to the roots. This condition is especially evident on sloped southern and west-facing exposures. If the issue is recurrent in specific areas of the landscape each dry winter, alternatives to Blue Grass turf may be the best way to treat those problematic locations. Cutting in rock and mulch beds for drought-tolerant plant material or installing Xeric areas can provide a nice variety to the landscape. Smaller areas may be candidates for reseeding, while large areas will likely need to be resodded. (photo credit: Michigan State University)
