GameStop shared Maul Cosplay's album.
Maul Cosplay, the primary choice for many of you to play Geralt in #TheWitcher Netflix series, took to Chernobyl for his Joel cosplay from #TheLastofUs and as a grave reminder to never forget what has happened in the past... A great photo shoot, but a greater message.
Cosplayer: Maul Cosplay Photographer: eosAndy Descriptions: Maja Felicitas Never forget and always dare to speak up. Why did I dare to travel to the exclusion zone of Chernobyl „just for cosplay“? Because it was not „just for cosplay“. Because I didn't go there for fun and games. I went there, because these places matter. They represent something none of us should ever forget about. And believe me, it wasn't at all a happy-go-lucky trip. As a cosplayer you sometimes come across opportunities which withhold much more than just a cool pic of your costumes and some likes on Facebook. Sometimes I feel like we can do so much more if we just go the extra mile. „But Maul, isn't a photoshoot representing a postapocalyptic -game- in a -real- cataclysmic zone disrespectful to the victims? Why did you have to go there in cosplay?“ Because social media is freaking powerful and if I can use these followers to raise awareness - I WILL NEVER STOP DOING IT. In my opinion it is way more disrespectful to let these places and events be forgotten. I talked to a lot of people about Chernobyl lately and there were many who didn't know much or even nothing about it. This can not be. Of course we ALSO went to Chernobyl to take the most authentic TLOU pictures we had in mind. I would never fight that. So, eosAndy and I put together a bunch of very cool and in game like but also a lot of extremely heavy, dark pictures. We want them to be seen. We want people to keep these catastrophes in mind. To treat them with more respect and awareness. So why not „use“ a franchise like The Last Of Us to teach younger generations about the importance of assuming responsibility? Most of you have the right to choose. The right to vote. As this planet is your home - save it! Never forget and always dare to speak up.
