I've worked my entire career (35 yrs) for a culture that makes a difference, has appreciation for others and serves. This week I received this note from a client. Proud... Thank You Gerardo and Bobby. EDL: I also want to thank your team. I was speaking with a resident and during our tow relocation there was a resident that is handicap and she had to walk quite a ways with her groceries. She stated one of the guys on the lawn mower noticed her struggling and they put her groceries on the lawn mower and carried them to her apartment. I was so happy to hear that one of our vendors went the extra mile to help a resident that truly needed it. Thank you so much to your team and the person that did that.

Have you noticed the cherry trees blooming earlier this year? The warm weather has accelerated plant growth and many are coming out of dormancy 3 week sooner than normal. Plants are becoming active sooner than their typical transition. That new growth is sensitive below freezing termpatures. Mark says this week has extreme cold temperatures & some outdoor plants will need to be protected if you are concerned about their flowering ability. It’s not going to be cold enough to kill, just reduce performance when it comes time to bloom. Hydrangea, Azalea, and Persiss are a few we have around our farm. The evening before he will water the plant. (I know; it doesn’t need water, it rained last night.) This warms the soil and helps insulate. After watering, cover with a light cloth. (sheet, towel- We use old curtains) When you water the plant rinse the leaves which keeps the cover cleaner. Cool! Snow is perfect for pre-emergent and fertilizer results…. the gradual effect is exciting! If you think you should fertilize, you can apply before the rain that is forecasted this week. It will be interesting to see if 25 degrees will kill the crabgrass that has germinated further south. In the vegetable garden-- if you have lettuce, strawberry, spinach, beets seedlings, he thinks we should cover. It won’t kill if you don’t cover, but will just reduce the shock which will cost time in terms of production for the leafy plants and may burn strawberry blooms.

Tis the season and we are locked and loaded! • We are 60% complete with broadleaf herbicide spraying. (this process kills weeds in turf) • Beginning next week: pre-emergent (weed prevention) and mowing of all communities begins. • If you haven’t Pine Needled your property yet, we have two more weeks to do it. Let us know asap! If you haven’t planned on Pine Needling, you can expect to pay 20% more for Pine Needle output. • Spring flowers have been booked for all customers that receive seasonal flowers. Those will be installed in April. • We have new equipment on our trucks and are excited to begin this season! As always, feel free to contact us with any questions and concerns. We are happy to manage your landscape, so you don’t have to! Have a great week!

EDL just completed a “wow factor” at one of our communities in Birkdale. These three pics show the before and after. We removed apx. 6 overgrown Junipers and opened up the area to a courtyard that helped not only curb appeal but safety/security as well. This is what we do best. We noticed what may not be obvious to others and created a solution to benefit the asset.
