John Parham. You might not know the name, but he probably had some effect on you as a motorcyclist. Especially if you ever bought anything from J&P Cycles. Rest in Peace.
John Parham, Founder of J&P Cycles, Chairman of the National Motorcycle Museum in Iowa, lost his long battle with pulmonary fibrosis today, April 20, 2017. Recognized often for his marketing work and event development and promotion, John was a passionate motorcyclist, and loved the history of the sport. Amassing a large motorcycle collection, much of it has been on display at the Museum helping to tell the history of motorcycling. John was a recipient of industry awards and inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. He will be missed by his wife Jill, son Zachary, daughter-in-law Bree and two grandchildren plus a large community of antique motorcycle enthusiasts. There will be a celebration of John’s life, likely in early May and friends are invited to attend. The National Motorcycle Museum website will offer details on this gathering.

Bushtec Manufacturing. Yeah...I know....this is the EC page. My family bought Bushtec in 1989. We moved it to East Tennessee in 1992. Then we sold it 8 years ago. The last 8 years had change...some good, some not so good. One of the items in the good column was the hiring of Keith Simpson. Keith had that drive and compassion for the product that my family did. Then he left last fall. Fast forward to last week. Keith is now one of the new owners and General Manager overseeing all operations. My brother Andrew and I have been invited to be a part of the new Bushtec. And I'm proud to say that we will be helping Keith and the crew however we can (no...I'm not closing EC or leaving). What I can tell you is that you are going to see changes again...and all for the better of the product and customers. The pic is from 1992 when we were in Orland, CA, not long before the move.
