As one possible hike in Alaska’s Kenai Fjords National Park, the Harding Ice Field Trail is exactly as it sounds: views of the park’s ice fields, with large stretches of snow and ice in all directions. Yet, the trip, often done as a six- to eight-hour day hike, isn’t that simple: The trek begins with forests and meadows and, soon enough, goes above treeline. Expect a lot of elevation gain – about 1,000 feet per every mile traveled. Have any of you ever walked this trail? Tell us about your adventure! |📷: IG's kryan207

Every hike has its highlights: A challenging stretch you pushed through, a 360-degree view from the top, or a lake you encountered along the way. For IG s antisocial_butterfly, this scene from the top of Indian Head turned out to be the journey’s literal and figurative highpoint. For your last hike, what were some of the highlights?

Placing second in this year’s Seek the Peak, IG's blondenhhikinggirl started her trip up at 7:30 a.m. and reached the top by 10 a.m. Did you also participate in the latest Seek the Peak? If so, what was your journey up like, and how fast did you ascend Mt. Washington?

Some garments are better for casual hikes at your own pace, while others are constructed for more extreme activities and environments, like training for a race. For IG's ray_of.sun.shine, while preparing for the Leadville 100 trail race, the EMS Ascent Series has helped her out during her more intense, demanding pursuits. Of all the places you could hike in the Adirondacks, Black Mountain isn’t necessarily known for its height – just 2,641 feet – but its views are a huge payoff for a relatively short trek. From here, as IG's patbly shows in this photo, you can look out at Lake George, the Narrows, Rogers Slide, and even Elephant and Sugarloaf Mountains. Of all the ADK’s shorter peaks, which ones have the best views?
