Cupertino Electric, Inc. shared Hope Services's post.
As a long-time supporter of Hope Services, we at Cupertino Electric would like to join in congratulating Brianne Holeman as Hope Services' "2016 Larry Schott Humanitarian Award" recipient. Thanks for making a positive impact in the community! #welldone #inpowered #hopeservices #poweredbygood
We are excited to announce Brianne Holeman as the 2016 Larry Schott Humanitarian Award Recipient. This award was created in 2005 in memory of Larry Schott, a former Hope Trustee, by his family members and Gene and Dianne Ravizza. It's awarded annually to a Hope participant who reflects Larry’s humanitarian values and commitment to the community. Brianne, a talented member of Hope’s Employment, Media & Community Connections (EMCC) program in Santa Cruz, has demonstrated talent, growth, independence and a strong sense of community in her 12 years at Hope. Some of her accomplishments include serving as President of Hope’s Aktion Club, volunteering at the Santa Cruz Library, reading to preschool students, and teaching square dancing. Brianne is also fluent in American Sign Language and is always helping train Hope participants to use film and production skills to improve their lives. Brianne is most deserving of this award through her intent to treat others with kindness and respect, and is extremely generous with her time and talents to help others grow to become impactful members of their community. One of the things that Brianne is most passionate about is a peer group she started in 2005 for adults with developmental disabilities, which encourages social interaction, growth, independence, and, above all else, a strong sense of community. Brianne’s parents, Jim and Christine, have always encouraged and supported Brianne in all of her aspirations and endeavors, from childhood through adulthood, and are very proud of the person Brianne has become.
