Rescued eaglet DC4 was just safely & successfully returned to its nest at the U.S. National Arboretum! Thank you to everyone for their patience and support and a HUGE thank you to Craig Koppie (USFWS), Marty Levine and Matt Morrison (Ex-cel Tree Experts), Sue Greeley (USNA), Samantha Sander at the Maryland Zoo (who gave the eaglet a presidential treatment!), and all other AEF and USNA staff and volunteers who made this a quick and safe transaction. The entire process of freeing the eaglet's lodged/stuck leg, getting it checked out/radiographed, and then returning it to the nest took less than 24 hours. Make sure to watch these two eaglets and their parents live on www.dceaglecam.org!
