Headley Hardware Named one of Popular Mechanic's "Best Hardware Stores in… #excellenc

Headley Hardware Named one of Popular Mechanic's "Best Hardware Stores in America" - ( We wanted to take a minute today to recognize #excellence in hardware retail with a hat-tip to Headley Hardware. Cleverly, the article started out wth this line, It's for more than a box of nails. I always feel pretty damned good when I get into Headley Hardware (Greencastle, Indiana), because it keeps the birdseed on an end cap near the entrance. It smells oily and light. And 6-penny nails are clanked by the handful onto an ancient tipan scale, so the place sounds like the industry of the everyday. Headley's is always lit like the top of the morning. No matter what the job, I'm always glad to be at Headley's. They stack hope by the door in that place. All of it, every square foot of Headley's, the best sort of hardware store there is, makes me glad for the place I live. When I push back out the glass doors, I always feel like I got some answers. They pile up the mulch out there. It is loamy and promising. This too gives me hope. Check out the link above to read more incredible hardware stores noted in Popular Mechanics. #hardware #stores #awards #Indiana #Greencastle

Safety Tips from Falling Furniture - (

Safety Tips from Falling Furniture - ( You might have seen the #viral video of a young twin boy pulling a fallen shelving unit off his brother, trapped underneath. A video monitor in the boys' bedroom captured the scene, and we'll link to the video later on in this post. With that in mind, today's post is all about safety staps for furniture in children's bedrooms. Here's an excerpt from the article: Experts like Ronda Lusk of SafeKids Wichita advises parents to get on their children's level in order to keep them safe. That way you can see any potential dangers you would otherwise miss. Another big recommendation is to use anchors and mounts to keep your furniture where it belongs. "So this is a furniture strap that we would use for a bookcase or a dresser or some type of furniture that we could potentially tip over," says Lusk. "So this will actually screw into the wall and then this will screw onto the furniture and then you can tighten and loosen it to how far you need." She also says things like televisions need to be secured or put on the wall. "If it's a flat screen and it can be mounted to the piece of furniture, we want to do that," says Lusk.
