The Unrivaled Tournament Series is a national board game tournament. Finals will be held in Las Vegas in October. Six winners from Blue Ox (yes six people from our store) will win a spot in the tournament and a plane ticket to Vegas. 1. The Game For tournament purposes, the base Nevermore game will be used without any expansions or add-ons. In each match, the participants play 3 games, taking a cumulative score over the 3 games. 2. Tournament Format The following rules apply to Nevermore only. Please refer to the official Unrivaled tournament rules for more detailed information on running a tournament. 2.1. Match Sizes The minimum number of players for a Nevermore tournament is 4. Each match must seat either 3 or 4 players. 2.2. Round Clock The base Nevermore game has a built in duration limit. Use a ten-round counter (this can be a 10-sided die or pen and paper) to monitor the duration. If someone wins, normally before the end of the tenth round, the game ends per the standard rules. If there is no winner by the end of the tenth round of the game, the game immediately ends. Participants are ordered by their Match Points. This assures that no one game runs overly long. 2.3. Scoring Victory Points are used per game to determine 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place with remaining Life Points breaking any ties on Victory Points. The top three players receive Match Points (3 for 1st Place, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd place) BUT the players must be HUMAN at the end of the game. If you are a RAVEN, you are not awarded Match Points. IMPORTANT: Should players be tied on Victory Points AND tied on Life Points, they earn the new lowest amount of Match Points. For example, players completely tied for 2nd place get 1 point each. At the end of the three preliminary games, the match is over and the participants are ranked according to their Match Points.
