When you're trusting your car repairs to someone, we think you'll feel more assured if you know a little bit of business history and the Munro family's years of automotive expertise.
Munro Motors, Inc., was originally founded in 1948 by Don W. Munro. His son, Don Jr., and daughter, Debbie, now head our family-owned and operated, state-of-the-art body repair facility on Haggerty Road in Commerce Twp., MI.
After being employed by Uncle Sam in the Philippines Motor Pool in 1946, Don Sr. started a small auto body repair on Puritan in Detroit. Munro Motors remained at the location until 1996.
Over the years, Don, his family and staff accumulated a lot of automotive experience to qualify as the best people to repair any vehicle that's been in an accident.
1961-1966 We sold a lot of Avantis at the Studebaker and Sunbeam Dealership on Eight Mile Road.
1964-1966 We managed the warehousing and prepping for all of Rootes Motors' cars delivered to the Midwest. After we did our work, we delivered them to Chrysler at the Detroit Harbor terminals.
1961-1969 Don and the Munro family operated several used car lots on Livernois, which at that time was known as "The Used Car Capital" in Southeast Michigan.
1966-1970 Knowing the value of keeping a car clean and in good repair, both inside and out, led us to open a coin-operated car wash at our Puritan location.
1973-1995 At two Detroit locations, we sold and installed automotive electronics, handled insurance replacements and auto glass sales.
1978-1995 Holbrook Auto Parts in Highland Park was a five-acre used auto parts facility where we dismantled and sold parts and components from as many as 1000 cars a year.
Now we hope to see you at our state-of-the-art facility in Commerce Twp. All of our technicians are licensed experts who take continuing education in the latest structural and safety developments.
