The East Coast Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Karate & Kobudo Dojo was founded in 1993 by Sensei David Ahrens in Westerly, RI. The first dojo was on Mechanic Street in Hope Valley, RI. It was opened on Feb 1st 1995. In 1999 the dojo moved to its current location in the Ocean State Job Lot Plaza in Richmond, RI. Our dojo is a 4000sq ft, state of the art, Karate training facility. Our two training floors are covered by the best floor matting system in the world; guaranteed to keep all students safe from injury. We offer a fully stocked Pro Shop complete with Uniform, Apparel, Weapons, Gear Bags, Sparring Gear as well as Snacks and Beverages.
