Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners added 5 new photos.
Our very first showcase goes to Riverland Cosmetology Department for their work with Project Community Connect! On January 26th, thirty students and their instructors, with a trailer full of styling chairs and supplies, trekked to Owatonna to provide free haircuts and manicures to people experiencing homelessness and displacement. The resource fair was organized by Steele County Habitat for Humanity and provided information on services related to food, transportation, legal matters, and health care. In three hours, the students completed 59 haircuts and 40 manicures, and there were still more people waiting to be pampered! These students and instructors were dedicated to making their new clients feel ready to take on the world, and they made it happen. To Riverland students and instructors: Congratulations and thank you for striving to make the world a more beautiful place! #MotivationMonday

Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners was feeling positive.
Do you know any licensees who are using their cosmetology skills to give back to their community? Maybe a salon who volunteers or a school that offered services for a good cause? If so, we would love to showcase them! We know our licensees are compassionate and motivated to make a difference in the world. We simply want to honor your volunteerism and share your inspiration with others. If you would like to be showcased, or would like to nominate someone, please send an email to with "Facebook Showcase" in the subject line. The fine print: The subject of the showcase must provide permission for use of event and photos. A showcase does not imply favorable consideration from the Board in terms of licensure, inspections, or compliance.
