Angelus became a success story when Loren A Coryell, after a long association with the Bausch and Lomb Company in New York, came to Los Angeles in 1946 and established a company to provide sales and service to all of Southern California’s Medical and Optical communities.

In 1966 his son, Richard D. Coryell joined the business to begin a long commitment with his father to improve all areas of the business.

In August of 1978, a new Angelus was formed and was “Incorporated” as Angelus Medical & Optical Co. Inc. with Richard Coryell as President and Principal Owner. His objectives were to continue the high service record and professionalism that would continue to serve a larger and expanded medical market. These markets included customers in Central and South America.

In 1989, Angelus moved to its present location, a 50,000 sq. ft. facility with a 10,000 sq. ft. showroom which houses a paint department, electrical inspection and repair department, and a complete medical equipment refurbishing department.

Now over 68 years later, Angelus continues to expand their customer database of clinics, hospitals, independent doctor offices and medical equipment dealers across the country and around the world.

In 2014 Richard Coryell retired and Fara Mohseni took over the company and started Angelus Medical & Optical Equipment. Fara brought with her new management skills and excellent technical skills that she had gained from having a degree in Electrical Engineering and working for many years in top aerospace and technology industries such as Boeing Co. and Oracle Corp. as Sr. Executive. Fara has a great understanding of the business and appreciates the quality of the service and products and believes that in order to be successful in a business you need to assure your customers are happy with your quality of your service and product.
