IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT RE; OUR PRICING In order to keep up with in labor, materials, shipping and other costs, we will need to increase our prices by an average of 7% across the board. Some prices will remain as they are, and several fixtures will increase by up to 15%. These changes will go into effect on February 1, 2017. The last time we adjusted our pricing was in 2012, and we’ve been holding off on this for as long as we could. So if you’ve been thinking of purchasing any of our fixtures in the near future, the next two weeks might be a good time! As part of these cost adjustments, we will also be modifying the pricing on our three special glass options. The price for blown restoration seeded glass (which we import directly from the German foundry) will increase from 15% up to 17% of the lantern’s base price. However, the prices for rippled and opalized glass will decrease, from 15% down to 12% of the lantern’s base price. You’ve got two weeks to take advantage of the current lower pricing on the following fixtures, as well as on the restoration seeded glass option. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly. Best wishes for 2017, Michael & Maria Island Work Shade (CH-189 Chandelier) currently $135, will increase to $155 Tulip Sconce, Single Arm (SC-1-121) currently $155, will increase to $178 Tulip Sconce, Double Arm (SC-2-121) $275, will increase to $316

Our lighting fixtures are once again appearing on This Old House! In the current episode we see Kevin O'Connor working with a landscape architect and a mason as they set one of our lanterns atop a granite pillar in the front yard. (This segment runs from about 4:00 through 8:20) The fixture is a custom sized Federalist Mansard wall mount lantern. Watch as mason Manny Pacheco mortises the granite, threads the wiring, installs the fixture and sets the post.
Erik Kaminski finishes the staircase with a maple newel post. Kevin helps connect a reproduction antique light fixture to a granite lamppost. Richard shows the systems for getting water from the well. Scott Caron shows how the backup generator is installed. A reproduction lantern is installed in the...

Thanks Kevin! You and the THIS OLD HOUSE crew were fantastic! thank you! Maria and Michael
LIGHT IT UP For our "new" old farm house we are using some very cool reproduction lighting made by the good folks Authentic Designs, and we were treated to some real old world craftsmanship by it's proprietors Michael and Maria Krauss. Normally I'd go on about the lights and the quality and the attention to detail, and of course I could go on and on. But in this case the thing that I enjoyed the most was the hospitality of Michael and Maria and their dedicated crew. An Irish-Catholic guy like me is always at risk of using the word incorrectly but so far as I'm concern Michael was the definition of a "mensch." If you ever make it to West Rupert, Vermont do stop in, they'll be happy to see you.
