Scabbard and Blade has functioned as a military honor society for ROTC training programs of all services at American colleges and universities since 1905 when it was established at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Membership is by invitation and is limited to the top 20 percent of cadets and midshipmen according to the local unit’s class order of merit list.
