Bob Gibson has committed a lifetime to training German Shepherds and other canine breeds in obedience, tracking, and protection. He also trains therapy dogs and law enforcement K9's. He has shown in AKC confirmation and competition in Schutzhund.
In the 1950’s he was a dog handler and trainer for the United States Air Force, world renowned for its’ dog training program. He instructed officers and enlisted men in the proper training and handling of canines.
After an honorable discharge, he continued with his life’s work by establishing K-9 College in Bixby, Oklahoma. He has professionally trained dogs for law enforcement agencies throughout the country. These dogs have been used for police work in drug and explosives detection, building search, rescue, tracking and protection.
Traveling around the world teaching workshops and training seminars, as well as competing in Schutzhund* and appearing on numerous television and radio programs has further complimented his experience.
He is a responsible, effective canine trainer whose aim is to educate the public on the utilization of well-trained, responsible dogs. “A well trained dog is a happy dog and a pleasure to live with”.
Located in Jenks, Oklahoma, Bob Gibson Training Kennels encompasses 10 acres in which classes are conducted and 24 hour monitored boarding kennels are located.
* (German word for ‘protection dog’ a dog sport developed in the 1900’s to determine whether German Shepherd dogs displayed the necessary tendencies for police type work)
