Since they are no longer living, we are only harvesting trees that have already served their usefulness to the forest - in fact, their removal makes room for new growth. They are tall, straight grained, and naturally air dried with a moisture content of less than fifteen percent, which ensures milling accuracy and minimal settling in the years to follow.
