Westview serves the families of at-risk youth between ten and twenty years old, 90% of whom reside in Oklahoma and Texas. We have been a home for young men from California to New York. These boys struggle with combinations of inadequate supervision, stressed family systems, incarcerated parents, poverty, behavioral issues, and legal problems. Only 10% are orphans. Many residents also suffer from developmental delays, attachment disorders, or post-traumatic stress disorders. Few residents are from intact nuclear families; most are from blended or single-parent families. An increasing number of grandparents are placing their grandchildren. Westview serves 30-35 families and their young men every year. No family has ever been turned away from Westview for lack of funds, or on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, or religion.
