Alloplastic Facial Reconstruction and the Artificial Eye Clinic is the nation’s foremost facility for the planning, designing and creation of alloplastic facial and limb prostheses, including eyes, ears, noses, faces, fingers, hands, arms, toes, feet and legs.

Prostheses are meticulously molded, hand-sculpted and pigmented to create the missing portion of the face or limb. The patient’s own hair is often woven into the lightweight prosthetic materials for eyelashes, eyebrows and body hair. Life-like pores, fingerprints, striations and other detailed skin features are artistically added and are considered vital components to the completed prosthesis.

For facial patients whose disfigurement is more than skin deep, fully functional prostheses are created to replicate hard bony structures, sinuses and other soft tissue. This consideration further assures anatomical appearance and, of equal importance, contributes to normal speech resonance, the ability to swallow, appropriated humidity, sinus drainage and the prevention of bone and tissue migration.
