Dick Ferrando, owner of D & A Corvette, Inc. bought his first corvette, a badly damaged 1958, in 1962 while he was still in high school. After arguing with his mom for about three months over his desire to buy the $150 wreck, he finally raised the cash and towed the car home. He didn't have a clue as to how to fix it, but by using self-taught skills and determination he tackled the restoration in earnest. It took three years to finish it. Thus the seeds of D&A Corvette, Inc. took root.
In 1974 he decided to pursue Corvette repair full time. Land was purchased on Historic Route 66 in Macoupin County, Illinois. It remains the current location of the company. D & A Corvette, Inc. is now one of only three or four high-caliber restoration shops in the United States. His name and company are known on a national/internatilonal stage where his products receive the highest honors Bloomington Gold and the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS). His Corvettes command top prices at Barret Jackson in Scotsdale, Arizona.
