Fountaingrove Lodge

The Fountaingrove Lodge is the newest of the premier senior communities developed and built by Oakmont Senior Living (OSL). The founders and principals of OSL are Bill and Cindy Gallaher.

Bill Gallaher has been in the building and development business since the mid 1970’s and began by building custom homes. In those early years he personally designed the homes, created the architectural drawings and managed every aspect of the construction. This experience gave him an intimate understanding of both construction and development. Blending beauty and function with a keen sensitivity to the changing market has been his trademark as he continues to be involved in every step of the construction process.

A native of Sonoma County, Bill resides in Santa Rosa with his wife Cindy and their five children. Cindy oversees the OSL design department and is involved in every element of project design. Bill and Cindy have been involved in their community in various ways. Together they founded and supported the operation of North Bay Adoptions (NBA) for 13 years. NBA was founded during the time in which Bill and Cindy were adopting the second of their 3 adopted children. They founded this agency as a resource for North Bay families that wanted to adopt internationally. Over the 13 years of its operation, NBA found families for more than 300 foreign born children. Cindy was also a founding member of the Santa Rosa-Bukjeju, South Korea Sister City Organization, and Bill served for 13 years as director at Sonoma National Bank, a community bank based in Santa Rosa. He is now one of the founding members of First Community Bank of Santa Rosa, chartered in 2005, and currently serves as the Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Bill and Cindy have developed an impressive array of projects, including single family homes, apartment complexes, office buildings, shopping centers and more than 30 senior communities. Most of their work in the last two decades has been in the senior housing industry. Their experience in this field includes building more than 480 homes in Oakmont, one of the country’s most well-known retirement communities. In 1995 their company began building senior communities, starting with Assisted Living Communities, and later moved to the development of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, which they continue to do at the present, and of which the Fountaingrove Lodge is the most recent.

The Gallahers are interested in providing fine retirement living opportunities for a broad range of seniors. In 2001 they built and opened Aegis Gardens of Fremont, CA, which is home to many members of the Chinese American senior community. The success of this community led them to consider developing communities that would serve other senior populations as well. OSL was approached by various individuals over the years expressing an interest in and need for an LGBT retirement community of the quality and scope that OSL has built for the mainstream senior community. It was this history that led Bill and Cindy to the concept for the Fountaingrove Lodge.

Oakmont Senior Living LLC has loyal employees who have been with the company for more than 20 years. They have watched it grow from a fledgling company to one that has developed and built projects in California, Washington and Nevada.
