With a genuine passion for craftsmanship for over 39 years, Ed Overbay designs and builds homes, custom interiors, staircases, cabinetry, architectural millwork and fine furniture. Ed views each project, whether it’s a single piece of furniture, or an entire home, as a personal statement that reflects his client’s lifestyle. Beginning with an inspiration and approaching design as an artisan and a problem solver, quality sets his work apart and results in a piece of art.

With his contracting expertise based on decades of hands on experience, he knows building from foundation to ridge top and all the details in between. Establishing his woodshop in 1974, Ed soon had a reputation as one of the premier furniture makers in the Northwest. His one-of-a-kind pieces have earned acclaim in galleries and art venues throughout the region. Through the years he has gradually developed his woodshop into Overbay Houseworks, one of the most capable woodworking facilities on the north coast. Today, Overbay’s design and building services attact clients from around the Northwest. Supported by his multi-talented crew, he maintains the flexibility to move easily from building a single piece of furniture to coordinating all the details of a large project.
