City Council Meeting Schedule for March Changed Kenner, LA. – The Kenner Council on Thursday unanimously approved a change to the council meeting schedule for March 2017. The March 2 meeting will be moved to March 9 and the March 16 meeting will be moved to March 23. Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn requested the scheduling change, explaining that due to the Mardi Gras holiday, City Hall is closed on both Feb. 27 and 28, which shortens the deadlines for putting city business on the council agenda and addressing other city matters. “It is my goal to limit any changes to the council meeting schedule so the public can plan ahead and attend any meetings they would like,” Zahn said. “However, making this change will ensure we are able to timely conduct important city business.” This change affects only the March 2017 Kenner City Council meeting schedule.

Lake Trail Drive @ Vintage Road Closures Information regarding the Lake Trail Drainage Project and road closures was publicized in our February newsletter and District 3 Brochure handout. The article stated “Vintage Drive will be CLOSED for approximately 48 hours to install concrete drain pipes under the roadway. The work will be performed on a Saturday and Sunday and message boards will alert motorist of the pending closure one week prior to closing” Since the release of that information, the contractors have decided instead to partial lane closures only of westbound Vintage. Motorists have been experiencing lane closures since the end of January and will continue to see closures for the next 8 days. All lanes are schedule to re-open Monday, February 13th, weather permitting. Once again, we thank you for your patience and courtesy during this important flood protection project.
