Showing God's love through our ministry, LSEM reaches out to support children with learning needs.
Our ministry opened its doors in 1873. We started out as an orphanage, and later became a School for the Deaf. Now we serve all children with learning needs.
We do this by providing certified special education professionals who work with children, teachers, pastors, and parents within the existing structures of schools and churches to reach children wherever they may be. We have specialized programs, professional workshops and instructional resources to help children with learning needs to not only succeed, but excel.
LSEM serves thousands of children across the United States every year.

This is a brief overview of our services:
- Evaluation Services: Review school curriculum and programs and coordinate student psychological and educational evaluations
-Consultation Services: Recommend educational strategies and provide materials and resources to schools, develop and supervise special education programs, conduct teacher workshops, and coordinate services with public agencies
-Student Instructional Support Services: Provide instructional support to educators or instruct individuals/small groups, develop study guides, coordinate tutoring services, and assist with special projects
-Student Basic Instructional Services: Provide direct teaching and grading of specific content areas and develop student academic and life skills
