Congratulations to Aimee, Edward and Knight High School! Aimee and Edward were selected as ABC7 Cool Kids for their first place win at the UAV Challenge in Queensland, Australia!
Carlos Granda introduces us to Cool Kids Aimee Rodriguez and Edward Banuelos, who are seniors at Knight High School in Palmdale and spend their free time mentoring students at the Digital Design and Engineering Academy. Aimee and Edward won an international competition in Australia and were the first team ever from the U.S. to win. They both want to pursue careers in the medical field and believe in learning as much as you can and then being the best you can be by teaching others. You've heard of dual-credit courses... but what about dual-counseling? It's actually called "adjunct counseling" but runs along the same lines.
Antelope Valley College rolled out the program in September in hopes to give students more access to college. There are 10 people who are high school guidance counselors by day and AV College adjunct counselors by night.
