"Mom, Im bored." Oh no, one would not say that to my mother. You learned quickly not to use the "B" word. Because if you were bored, you did not have enough to do. And if you did not have enough to do, she would find something for you to do and you were happier being bored. What is boredom? Wikipedia says "In conventional usage, boredom is an emotional or psychological state experienced when an individual is left without anything in particular to do, is not interested in his or her surroundings, or feels that a day or period is dull or tedious." Its terrible when one is bored with the day, but how sad when one is bored with life in general. So I ask, how can a Christian be bored with life? Every day God gives us a new opportunities to live for Him, divine appointments where we meet people with great need, and opportunities for spiritual adventure. The only way we can be bored with life is if we do not lift our eyes above our own circumstances. If we are focused only on our own situation, that is going to be dull. Check this out. Isaiah 61:10-11 "I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, So the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise To spring up before all the nations.…" Oh, no boredom there. Look up. Check out what God is doing and join it. Pastor Ken

Did you ever get a little hungry and go over to the kitchen cabinet and open it , only to find there was nothing to eat there? Old Mother Hubbard, went to the cupboard, to get her poor doggie a bone. But when she got there, the cupboard was bare..." So you go to the fridge. Certainly there is something in there leftover. You open it and all that is there is mustard, ketchup and about an inch of milk left in the bottom of the carton. Empty. Did you ever feel empty? Much to do. Family, work, school projects. People depending on you, and you feel empty, drained, worthless. The red lights and sirens go off, and the alarm screams, "All systems shutting down." Its a bad feeling, but a lie. We're never empty. Its a feeling. Perhaps we are tired. Perhaps spent from work, especially mental work. Perhaps a bit depressed. What we have to do is remember who we are and what we're called to do. Where do we get our life, our energy, our drive? It comes from the Lord. Lamentations 3:22-24 says "…The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."… New every morning. New lovingkindness, new compassion, new faithfulness, and filled with his Spirit. What do I do if im empty? I eat. What if Im spiritually empty? I eat. I eat of the Word, I eat of the Bread of Life. I eat in my alone time with him. And He fills me with His Spirit. And off I go again. Pastor Ken

Just a quick update on Pastor's father. Thursday morning he had the procedure to have stents put in his arteries. He did very well through the procedure and we were able to bring him home on Friday. We thank God for his help through the whole process and thank all of you who were so gracious with your prayers and comments to him. What a great family we have in the body of Christ. Pastor Ken

Last Saturday, we had the honor of performing the wedding ceremony for MIke and Cherri Kisling in beautiful downtown Volcano, California. The simple and small ceremony was held in the old St. George hotel. Congratulations to the new couple who will be living about three miles from this location.

Just look at this family. They were all here with us Sunday. And so they all bunched up and took a great photo. I wanted to share it with you. The Wilson bunch and Elijah's wolf. Praise God.
