The Practice was founded in 1930 by Dr. I. E. MacDonald. As a former patient of his, Dr. Les Sipola joined his practice in 1952 and were known as MacDonald and Sipola, Optometrists. Dr. Les Sipola's son, Dr. Don Sipola, joined the practice in 1973. Dr. Don Sipola's son, Dr. Matthew Sipola, joined the family practice in 2014.
Dr. Matthew Sipola represents the third generation Sipola and the fourth generation Optometrist to staff the longest continuously operating eye clinic in Northern Minnesota. We have prided ourselves on excellence in eyecare and have cared for multiple generations of "Rangers," as though they were part of our extended family.
