Operated by the Matthews family since the 1950s, the continually updated marina in this idyllic location quietly recharges the lives of all who visit. The property was originally operated as an old fashioned fishing camp. Jet Matthews completely redeveloped the property into a beautifully landscaped and modern marina in the 1980s. He continues to maintain his residence at Matthews Point even though he has developed the very exclusive and successful Luken’s Island project for sportsmen and investors and in 2004 he very successfully completed redevelopment of the award winning Morehead City Yacht Basin. It has a century of tradition in the finest east coast location and has set a new benchmark for outstanding quality in marina design and development.
