Massive cuts to crucial services working families, people with disabilities and seniors depend on. Massive tax breaks for big corporations and the rich. Somehow, we're just not convinced this is going to make anything great happen for anyone but those at the top.

Good morning! Minnesota lawmakers transitioned straight into a special session Tuesday to complete work on a $46 billion state budget. House and Senate floor sessions will begin at 3 p.m. today. The agreement to go into overtime came with a handshake between Republicans and Democrats who spent hours locked in a private room trying to find middle ground. Gov. Dayton announced that they had reached a tentative agreement on a budget. The remaining bills include funding for schools and human services. They need to pass bills to fund state agencies, our pensions and the work we do. They also plan to pass a bonding bill, a $660 million package of tax cuts, and transportation funding. AFSCME members will be watching to hold our elected officials accountable for a budget that takes care of all Minnesotans.

AFSCME Council 5 was live.
End of session update from Eliot Seide:

The House just went into recess. It's not too late to call your legislators!
