Dr. Kiran Girdhar is a board certified allergist that has been in practice in the western suburbs for the past 28 years. She has extensive experience in treating asthma of all severity, environmental allergies, food allergies, medication allergy, chronic sinus problems, chronic cough, skin allergies (eczema, contact allergies, chemical allergies), and exercise-induced coughs. Dr. K. Girdhar has held a position as clinical assistant professor in Pediatrics and Allergy Immunology at the University of Chicago for 15 years, and has trained both residents and medical students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and traveling.

Dr. Manika Girdhar is new to our Hinsdale Asthma & Allergy practice in Hinsdale, IL, as of August 2014. She is a board certified pediatrician and a specialist in treating allergy, asthma, and immunology for both adults and children. She attended Hinsdale Central High School and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She graduated from Midwestern University Medical School and completed her pediatric residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. She then completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri in June 2014.

Dr. M. Girdhar’s areas of expertise include food and drug allergies, asthma, allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, eczema, rashes, and a variety of other allergic and/or immunologic conditions. Her most recent manuscript was published in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology discussing the role and effect of omega-3 fatty acids in pregnancy and the development of atopic disease. During her free time, Dr. M. Girdhar enjoys travelling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family and friends.
