Saved By Grace is a community of Christians that holds God’s Word “sacred”. In order for God’s Word to be “held sacred” we ask two questions. The first question we ask is, “What does the Bible say?” Since the Bible is God’s Word, it is not our place to impose our own interpretation upon it. Instead, God’s Word must give the answer and be the source of all our teachings. The second question we ask is, “How does God’s Word show us Jesus?” The Bible does that by first showing us our need for Jesus – that we are lost and condemned sinners. Then it shows us Jesus, who lived, died, and rose for us to save us from our sins. God’s Word not only shows us Jesus, but it also brings us Jesus. We, therefore, “gladly hear and learn it” by gathering around His Word and Sacrament. In Word and Sacrament God gives to us what Jesus has done for us. As He does, He fortifies our faith in Him and then sends us into our daily lives to serve our neighbor in love.
