Benchmark Senior Living provides a continuum of care levels within the Edgehill Community which enables the residents to age in place in a gracious and comfortable environment. Benchmark called upon BFE to design new additions for the project’s Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing residential suites. New common spaces were developed within the project including new dining, sitting, and activity areas, a new spa suite with lobby reception, salon, exercise and treatment rooms, new massage, occupational and physical therapy spaces. The locker room and indoor swimming pool spaces were upgraded. New landscaped areas were designed around the additions, while a verdant roof garden was created atop the new ten-unit Assisted Living wing. A new main entrance was built with a spacious porte-cochere to create a new sense of identity for the facility. Nine new Independent Living residences were built in two of the additions. These have a high level of finish on the interior and exterior wood shingle cladding and peaked roofs to fit seemlessly into the existing community.

Yesterday, Pinck was excited to attend the ground breaking for Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly's Golda Meir House in Newton! The 200-unit housing complex for seniors will receive extensive renovations to all units, including improved accessibility, building system upgrades, and common area improvements. We are excited to be working with Colantonio and Bechtel Frank Erickson Architects!

The property at 157 Herrick Road is the former location of the Andover Newton Theological School, which was originally founded in 1807 as the country’s first inter‐denominational seminary. The property consists of approximately 20 acres of land in a Single Family Residence zoning district. The school’s first building, Farwell Hall, was built in 1828, and subsequent buildings were built throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. BSL Newton Development LLC, an affiliate of Benchmark Senior Living, intends to rehabilitate Farwell Hall and construct a new attached building. The renovation of the top two floors of Farwell Hall will include 12 reconfigured dormitory rooms. The bottom floors of Farwell Hall and the new attached building will house a 51‐unit memory care assisted living facility.

Built around 1970, Mandela Homes located in Roxbury, Massachusetts, is a 10 building apartment complex located on 2 separate parcels comprised of 276 living units including studio, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments. Mandela Homes offers an array of services and amenities including onsite laundry, community rooms, and computer learning centers, as well as on-site professional management and maintenance. The project consists of renovation to all of the 10 buildings’ residences common areas: corridors, lounges, and community rooms. Living units received new finishes including kitchens cabinets and appliances as well as bathroom fixtures and finishes. Handicap accessible units were renovated to meet current ADA standards. Work was completed in the Fall of 2016.
