Our Mission Statement: “To make disciples of Jesus Christ and give ourselves in his service.”
Central to our calling as Christians is an awareness of what God has done and is doing in Jesus Christ. The transforming power of God’s love in Christ is the living power that makes us disciples and equips us to share the Good News with others. The scriptures teach us that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself (2 Corinthians 5:17-21). Because Jesus lives, he is at work in the church also, making us agents of God’s reconciliation in the world. Isn’t it extraordinary that God would entrust such a message and such a mission to us? Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to share the good news of God’s reconciling love in Jesus with a world hungry to know him. We rejoice that God is at work among us and pray that he would bless our efforts to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” (the United Methodist mission statement adopted April 28, 2008).
