Carnation City Players was established by several theater-minded persons from Mahoning, Columbiana, and Stark county in 1960 and was originally known as the Tri-County Players.
In 1972, the name was changed to Carnation City Players.
In 1979, the city of Alliance presented CCP with the opportunity to move into a renovated space at the old firehouse on East Market Street in downtown Alliance, Ohio.
As of 2017, CCP continues to perform at the Firehouse Theater.
