Dr. Eric Millstein is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a special focus in sports medicine. He is an expert in knee and shoulder conditions and surgery.
Dr. Millstein has expertise in following treatments: - ACL repair - Arthritis - Arthroscopic surgery - Dislocated shoulder - Joint replacement - Rotator cuff repair - Stress fractures
Dr. Millstein has presented research on long-term outcomes of ACL reconstruction and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and remains active in teaching other surgeons complex arthroscopic techniques as a complement to his clinical practice.
He completed his undergraduate studies with honors in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he also developed an interest in athletic injuries and sports medicine. He subsequently graduated with AOA honors and academic awards from the School of Medicine at Penn and then completed his orthopedic residency training at the University of Chicago.
Following his interest in sports injuries, Dr. Millstein spent 18 months at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute as a fellow in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. This advanced training included arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle.
