It was quite the honor to particpate in the research for this article. http://magazine.pctonline.com/article/february-2017/stopping-the-conehead-termite-invasion.aspx
The conehead termite, which differs from its subterranean relatives with its super-fast reproductive rate, is an aggressive forager known to venture several hundred feet away from the colony to establish satellite nests.

The feature topic, Conehead termites in Florida, for the February issue of Pest Control Technology magazine. http://magazine.pctonline.com/article/february-2017/all-in-to-beat-the-conehead-termite.aspx
This second-generation pest management professional is working hard with a variety of colleagues to beat this “junkyard dog”-like termite.

I participated in a tour hosting officials from Florida Department of Agriculture's AES division. Our efforts focus on the eradication of the Cone Head termite infestation in Pompano Beach.

Saw this in our yard today, someone called this 'Bug Porn'.....................the Gulf Fritillary. Known for it's bright undersides iridescent spots, this butterfly's reference to the Gulf is due to the fact it's common in the states around The Gulf of Mexico. It flies all year in southern Florida near habitats of brushy fields or woodland edges. Adults avidly visit Lantana flowers.

Where not to place your 'I've treated this yard' sign.
