The Humane Society of Rome is a not-for-profit organization serving the Mohawk Valley and surrounding areas since 1956.
We provide shelter, food and loving care to all unwanted cats and dogs.
We promote the adoption of rescued, abandoned, abused or neglected animals into safe lifelong homes.
Some of the programs and services we provide include:
- A safe haven for animals in transition. - Serve as advocates for animals. - Work to end animal overpopulation. - Work to end animal cruelty, abuse and neglect. - Educate the public on compassion and responsibility towards animals. - Humane Education to school aged children. - Lobby to support Animal Rights Legislation.
