Cuba Cheese

5
Nestled in the farmlands 70 miles southeast of Buffalo, NY lies the small village of Cuba. Known in the 1900’s as the “Cheese Capital of the World,” on every Wednesday during the first half of the century, the US market price for cheese was set at the Kinney Hotel in Cuba, NY. While the US market price is now set by the National Cheese Exchange in Green Bay WI, Cuba has remained a top producer of world renowned cheese

For over a century, award-winning Cuba cheese was only available to the commercial food industry and a few select mail-order customers. It wasn’t until 1976, when the Cuba Cheese Shoppe decided to open its doors and establish a retail cheese outlet, that Cuba cheese finally became available to the general public.

Today, in addition to the retail outlet, the Cuba Cheese Shoppe also ships its products (most notably their award-winning New York State White Cheddar Cheese, cold-pack cheese spreads, and specialty gourmet gift packages) to mail-order and internet customers across the country.
